DAMPAK KEBIASAAN MEMBACA PADA KETERAMPILAN MENULIS NARASI
Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kebiasaan membaca terhadap keterampilan menulis narasi mahasiswa. Kegiatan membaca yang diciptakan pengajar berkaitan dengan penugasan membaca ekstensif untuk mengembangkan tema tulisan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan one-group experimental design. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa di Universitas Kusumanegara Jakarta. Ada 100 mahasiswa yang menjadi peserta dalam proses penelitian ini atau 3 kelas. Proses pengumpulan data menggunakan tes esai (menulis narasi) dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan t-test paired two samples for means. Hasil temuan menyimpulkan bahwa ada dampak signifikan kebiasaan membaca terhadap kualitas hasil tulisan narasi mahasiswa. Hal ini juga memberikan implikasi pada penerapan strategi pembelajaran menulis melalui penugasaan membaca ekstensif sebagai wujud penciptaan kebiasaan mahasiswa selama proses pengembangan tulisan narasi. Temuan ini menggambarkan paduan pembelajaran keterampilan membaca dengan menulis selama proses proses pengajaran berlangsung sebagai bagian dari pengajaran terintegrasi. Mahasiswa tidak hanya mengalami peningkatan keterampilan menulis, akan tetapi juga pemahaman mereka terhadap bacaan.
