Abstract

ABSTRAK
Concrete is a material that is widely used in the manufacture of a building. This is because the concrete has many advantages compared with other construction materials. But the use of mixed materials such as concrete for the construction of the pier, and irrigation, ordinary concrete is not enough. It required additional material that can absorb a lot of water and can improve the compressive strength of concrete. In this study, using fiber fibers as an additive in concrete mixtures. Fiber is black fibers like hair in a ponytail with a type of crude fiber and aggregate coarse sieve to a diameter of between 2.5 cm - 3 cm and the desired concrete strength was 175 kg / cm². To determine the compressive strength with the addition of palm fibers in concrete mix, needs to be tested by testing the compressive strength of concrete. Testing, producing normal concrete compressive strength at 28 days amounted to 235.66 kg / cm². On the addition of palm fibers 1% at 28 days compressive strength of 256.06 kg / cm² or (greater than normal concrete). With the addition of palm fibers 1.5% on a 28-day compressive strength of 231.13 kg / cm² or (lower than normal concrete). With the addition of palm fiber 1.75% at 28 days compressive strength as big as 256.60 kg / cm2 or (lower than normal concrete). The addition of 1% palm fiber produces maximum compressive strength value of 256.66 kg / cm² or higher than normal concrete, which only reached 235.06 kg / cm² at the age of concrete 28 days, the results of this study can be generalized that, concrete fiber-added material fibers have good physical qualities with certain variants that can be used as an additive to concrete to increase the compressive strength of concrete.
