Based on BNPB data, from 2018 to 2019 there were 3,999 disasters. The total potential area of flood hazard in South Sumatra Province as a whole is 6,476,932.00 Ha and is in the High class. The extent of flood hazards is broken down into 3 hazard classes. In reality, the survey results show that knowledge of disasters in Indonesia is still not accessible to the general public. There is a gap between disaster knowledge and existing knowledge at the community level. This is proven by the community's lack of responsiveness in protecting the surrounding environment, their lack of response to natural phenomena and their tendency to wait for the government to handle disasters. The success of this strategy is expected to increase public awareness of disasters so that they actively participate in flood prevention. The data collection technique used is in the form of a questionnaire or questionnaire. The results show that children who have environmental awareness in Plaju District are only around 50.57%. The value of children's environmental awareness based on the results of the questionnaire is still low, namely 49.86%. And from the survey results, the government must raise environmental awareness among the people of Plaju sub-district, which must be done by the government, the managers (RT/RW), one of which is the need for support and motivation from related parties such as the government in the form of counseling and providing capital to encourage its citizens to process waste into something useful. useful so that it can convince residents by creating jobs and minimizing waste.
2023-12-05T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Environmental Science Journal (esjo) : Jurnal Ilmu Lingkungan https://jurnal.univpgri-palembang.ac.id/index.php/esjo/article/view/13623 Eksistensi Lahan Pasang Surut Untuk Pertanian Di Desa Mulya Sari Kabupaten Banyuasin 2023-11-28T02:59:17+00:00 Helfa Septinar helfa23@yahoo.com Ita Emilia itaemilia@rocketmail.com Yunita Panca Putri yunita_pp12@yahoo.co.id Eva Suryani evasuryani088@gmail.com
Tidal land is land that is in a zone where it is still influenced by sea tides. This land is marginal and can still be developed while maintaining water availability and pyrite oxidation. In Sumatra, Kalimantan and Irian Jaya, tidal land has been opened through the transmigration program. This land was opened as agricultural land to meet the food needs of the community. One of the efforts in managing tidal land is water management. This research aims to determine the existence of tidal land as agricultural land in Mulya Sari village. The method used is field observation, data collection through direct interviews and related literature, and descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that for the existence of tidal land, the community in Mulya Sari village optimizes the channels built by orders and also those created by the community itself. The water conditioning in each plot of land and tertiary canals is maintained by the optimal operation of the automatic water gates. In addition, the water level must be above the ground water level to prevent oxidation of the pyrite layer. Under these conditions, the tidal land in Mulya Sari village continues to exist as agricultural land.

Tidal land is land that is in a zone where it is still influenced by sea tides. Research on indications of climate change and its impact on rice production in Indonesia in South Sumatra This research aims to examine climate change and its impacts on rice production in Indonesia. This study uses data from temperature, bulk rain, agroclimate, and rice production as well as socio-economic data. Methodology This research is an explanatory descriptive study using the concept of risk assessment where risk (risk) is a function of danger (hazard) and vulnerability (vulnerability). Study results shows that in Indonesia there has been climate change with indications of increasing temperature, changes in rainfall patterns, changes in hitergraphs, and changes in Oldeman classification.

2023-12-06T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Environmental Science Journal (esjo) : Jurnal Ilmu Lingkungan https://jurnal.univpgri-palembang.ac.id/index.php/esjo/article/view/11589 Bencana Badai Siklon Tropis Di Indonesia 2023-11-09T01:54:49+00:00 Aisha Ramadhinia Annada aishaannada29@gmail.com Rosalina Kumalawati 2210416220029@mhs.ulm.ac.id
Tropical cyclones are powerful storms. Usually the average radius is around 150-200km. This tropical cyclone is formed above the sea where the sea water temperature is warm, more than 26.5 degrees Celsius, and strong winds whose rotation has a speed of 63km/hour. BMKG said that in Indonesia there were at least 12 tropical cyclones that occurred in the archipelago from 2008-2021. This research method uses descriptive methods via the internet, then analyzed using qualitative methods. The impact of tropical cyclones is extreme weather changes in Indonesia whose impacts we can see and feel are significant. BMKG also states that tropical cyclones are dangerous storms because they have enormous strength. The life span of tropical cyclones usually ranges from 3-18 days Because tropical cyclones get energy from warm oceans, tropical cyclones weaken when they move into areas of water where the temperature is cold. Another name for tropical cyclones is "earth storm" which we usually know as "typhoon". Cyclone Dahlia is one of the many cyclones that grow in tropical areas. This natural phenomenon occurs at the end of the year in locations near Indonesian territory.
2023-12-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Environmental Science Journal (esjo) : Jurnal Ilmu Lingkungan https://jurnal.univpgri-palembang.ac.id/index.php/esjo/article/view/13875 Upaya Pengelolaan Sampah di Pemukiman Kumuh 2023-12-18T04:04:29+00:00 Sukmaniar Sukmaniar sukmaniar@univpgri-palembang.ac.id Wahyu Saputra wahyusaputra@univpgri-palembang.ac.id Parasmita Anggraini parasmita353@gmail.com
Garbage has become a problem in various areas, especially in slum areas.
