Pemanfaatan Perpustakaan Untuk Menumbuhkan Minat Membaca Siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Muara Telang

Abstrak-- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : 1) Pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Muara Telang. 2) Mekanisme pengelolaan perpustakaan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Muara Telang. 3) Kendala pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Muara Telang. 4) Solusi terhadap kendala perpustakaan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Muara Telang. Objek/Informan penelitian adalah Wakil Kurikulum, kepala perpustakaan, Pustakawan, dan siswa. Metode penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah deskriftif kualitatif, yaitu suatu metode yang menggambarkan suatu fenomena melalui deskripsi dalam bentuk kalimat dan bahasa yang menggunakan metode alamiah. Teknik pengumpulan data: 1) Wawancara, 2) Observasi, 3) Dokumentasi. Teknik Analisis Data menggunakan : 1) Data Reduction (Reduksi Data), 2) Data Collection/Pengumpulan, 3) Data Display (penyajian Data), 4) Conclusion Drawing/Verification (Penarikan Kesimpulan). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah dilakukan dengan cara: a) mengajak peserta didik untuk belajar di perpustakaan, b) melakukan kerjasama dengan guru mata pelajaran, c) mengarahkan guru mata pelajaran agar dapat mengajak siswa untuk belajar di perpustakaan 2) Mekanisme pengelolaan perpustakaan meliputi : a) proses penyelenggaraan perpustakaan, b) layanan perpustakaan, c) koleksi perpustakaan. 3) Kendala pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah adalah a) Jumlah koleksi buku non fiksi yang masih sedikit, b) Rendahnya minat membaca siswa, c) Kurang maksimalnya proses pelayanan dan kegiatan di perpustakaan, d) Fasilitas perpustakaan yang belum lengkap. 4) Solusi kendala pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah adalah a) Sekolah menambah koleksi buku, b) menambah fasilitas sarana prasana perpustakaan, c) Kepala perpustakaan dan pustakawan mengatur jadwal kunjungan perkelas. d) Membuat program kegiatan perpustakaan, dan memberikan penghargaan kepada siswa, dan pustakawan memberikan promosi kepada siswa yang berkunjung ke perpustakaan akan pentingnya fungsi dari perpustakaan sekolah.
