PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING DAN MEDIA AUDIO VISUAL TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENULIS CERITA FANTASI

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan media audio visual dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas VII SMPIT Bina Insani Kayuagung dalam menulis cerita fantasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 42 siswa, masing-masing dibagi sama rata ke dalam kelompok Discovery Learning dan kelompok media audio visual, menggunakan desain eksperimental dengan dua kelompok. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung selama proses pembelajaran, serta pre- dan post-test keterampilan menulis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa, meskipun masing-masing metode pembelajaran memiliki tingkat efektivitas yang berbeda, kedua metode meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Model Discovery Learning menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan, dengan skor rata-rata post-test 90,24 dan kriteria efektivitas 90 persen, yang merupakan kategori sangat tinggi. Media audio visual juga mencapai skor rata-rata 83,10 dengan kriteria efektivitas 82 persen, yang merupakan kategori sangat tinggi. Uji Sampel Independen menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara dua kelompok (sig. 2-tailed = 0,00 < 0,05). Menurut observasi kualitatif, keterlibatan aktif, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan kolaboratif siswa dalam kelompok Discovery Learning meningkat secara bertahap. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model Discovery Learning memiliki keunggulan dalam mendorong kreativitas dan kemampuan analitis siswa saat mereka menulis cerita fantasi. Namun, mereka juga mengakui kekuatan media audio visual sebagai alat pendukung pembelajaran yang efektif.
