Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan kritik sosial terhadap novel Tenggelamnya Rembulan Diwajahmu Karya Tere Liye dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui metode pustaka, simak dan catat. Hasil dari penelitian yang didapatkan yaitu: terdapat masalah sosial yang digambarkan dari novel ini seperti kekerasan fisik, kekerasan verbal, perjudian, prostitusi, pencurian, dan rendahnya pendidikan. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat kritikan pada tokoh dalam novel yaitu pada karakter Rehan yang menjadi tokoh utama yang digambarkan kisah kehidupannya dalam novel tersebut.
