Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur penyajian sastra tutur guritan pada masyarakat Trans Padang Muara Dua Kecamatan Gumay Ulu Kabupaten Lahat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa guritan merupakan salah satu seni tutur yang berkembang di daerah lahat dimana dalam penyajian guritan tidak ada ritual khusus yang dilakukan penggurit sebelum menggurit, hanya saja penggurit harus paham cerita yang disampaikan, paham sejarah kedaerahan. Pada umumnya lirik guritan menceritakan sejarah daerah dan keadaan sosial masyarakat yang berisi nasehat. Dalam penyajiannya kesenian ini ditampilkan dalam acara pernikahan yang berfungsi sebagai hiburan masyarakat.
