KOREOGRAFI NYAI SETOMI SEBAGAI KARYA TARI BERBASIS AUTOETNOGRAFI

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas pengalaman pribadi koreografer dalam penciptaan karya tari Nyai Setomi, menginspirasi dan membuka wawasan bagi seniman maupun sejarawan yang melakukan penelitian suatu objek dengan pendekatan autoetnografi. Masalah difokuskan pada pendekatan autoetnografi koreografer terhadap proses penciptaan Karya Tari Nyai Setomi. Guna mendekati masalah ini dipergunakan acuan teori dari buku yang menyatakan Autoetnografi pada prinsipnya melibatkan penggunaan pengalaman pribadi dan perspektif individu untuk menjelaskan kepercayaan, praktik, dan identitas kelompok atau budaya tertentu. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian artistik. Data-data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dan dianalisis secara wacana yang mana didalamnya terjadi interaksi antara subyek penelitian dan peneliti. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa aspek yang digunakan atau diciptakan koreoegrafer adalah bentuk dari autoetnografi atau pengalaman pribadi dalam melakukan penelitian Meriam Nyai Setomi.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to explore the choreographer's personal experience in the creation of the dance piece Nyai Setomi, offering inspiration and insights for artists and historians researching an object through an autoethnographic approach. The study focuses on the choreographer's autoethnographic approach to the creative process of Nyai Setomi. To address this issue, the study draws on theoretical references that define autoethnography as involving the use of personal experience and individual perspectives to explain the beliefs, practices, and identities of specific groups or cultures. The research adopts an artistic research methodology. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and was analyzed discursively, highlighting the interaction between the subject of the study and the researcher. This study concludes that the aspects utilized or created by the choreographer are forms of autoethnography, representing personal experiences in researching Meriam Nyai Setomi.
