Floors are surfaces that are prone to contamination by microorganisms such as Enterococcus faecalis, which can pose various health risks. The continuous use of synthetic chemical floor cleaners can have negative effects, making it necessary to use natural alternatives such as the pedada fruit (Sonneratia caseolaris), which has the potential to inhibit bacterial growth. This study aims to analyze the antibacterial activity and determine the optimal concentration of a pedada fruit (S. caseolaris) extract-based floor cleaner against the growth of E. faecalis. The research procedures included sample collection and preparation, extract preparation, formulation of the floor cleaner, antibacterial activity testing, and physical quality testing. Antibacterial activity testing was performed using the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. The study consisted of five treatments and five replicates, namely positive control, negative control, and extract concentration variations of 25%, 50%, and 75%. The parameters observed included inhibition zone diameter, pH, viscosity, organoleptic properties, and skin irritation. The results showed that the floor cleaner made from pedada fruit extract (S. caseolaris) exhibited significant antibacterial activity (p<0.001), with the optimal average inhibition zone diameter at a 75% concentration of 27.504 mm. All formulations had pH levels within standard limits and did not cause skin irritation; however, the viscosity and organoleptic properties of the formulations tended to require optimization. Thus, S. caseolaris fruit extract has been shown to have potential as a natural active ingredient in floor cleaner formulations to inhibit the growth of E. faecalis.
