Abstract

Budidaya ikan jelawat (Leptobarbus hoevenii) memiliki prospek yang baik seiring dengan tingginya permintaan pasar terhadap ikan tersebut. Sehingga diperlukan penelitian sebagai dasar untuk mengetahui kinerja pertumbuhan ikan jelawat dalam media pemeliharaan khususnya kolam tanah, untuk mencukupi kebutuhan ikan jelawat melalui kegiatan budidaya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kinerja pertumbuhan benih ikan jelawat pada media kolam tanah di desa Tangkit Baru, Jambi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September sampai Desember 2025 bertempat di Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan usaha mandiri desa Tangkit Baru, Kecamatan Sungai Gelam Jambi, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Pemeliharaan benih ikan jelawat dilakukan pada kolam tanah dengan menggunakan hapa berukuran 2 m × 2 m × 1,5 m. Padat tebar benih sebanyak 586 ekor berukuran ±3 cm dan pemberian pakan dilakukan secara ad satiation menggunakan pakan PF 800 dengan kandungan protein 40%, lemak 6%, serat kasar 3%, dan abu 3%. Data yang diamati yaitu jumlah konsumsi pakan (JKP), pertumbuhan panjang mutlak (PPM), pertumbuhan berat mutlak (PBM), laju pertumbuhan spesifik (LPS), feed conversion ratio (FCR), efisiensi pakan (EP) dan survival rate (SR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai yang baik untuk pertumbuhan ikan jelawat dimana JKP sebesar 12.000 g, PPM 7,4 cm, WM 10.727.97g, LPS 0,05%, FCR 1,15, EP 87,2 % dan SR 94%. Hasil pengukuran kualitas air menunjukkan nilai suhu berkisar antara 27-31oC, DO 2,5-3,7 mg/L, pH 6,20-7,32, nitrit 0,1-0,2 mg/L dan nitrat 2-3 mg/L.

 

The cultivation of jelawat fish (Leptobarbus hoevenii) has good prospects due to the high market demand for this fish. Market demand for jelawat fish tends to increase over time, but most of it is met from seasonal catches in the wild. Therefore, research is needed as a basis to understand the growth performance of jelawat fish in cultivation media, particularly traditional ponds, to meet the demand for jelawat fish through aquaculture activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the growth performance of jelawat fish fry in traditional pond media in Tangkit Baru village, Sungai Gelam, Jambi. This study was conducted from September to December 2025 at the Independent Fish Farming Group (POKDAKAN) in Tangkit Baru village, Sungai Gelam district, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province. The maintenance of jelawat fish fry was carried out in traditional ponds using a hapa measuring 2 m × 2 m × 1.5 m. Seed stocking density was 586 individuals with a size ± 3 cm, and feeding was done to satiation using PF 800 feed with a content of 40% protein, 6% fat, 3% crude fiber, and 3% ash. The observed data were total feed consumption, absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency and survival rate (SR). The results showed good values for the growth of Jelawat fish, with total feed consumption 12,000 g, absolute length growth 7.4 cm, absolute weight growth 10.727,97g, SGR 0.05%, FCR 1.15, feed efficiency 87,2%, and SR  94%. Water quality measurements showed a temperature range of 27-31°C, DO 2.5-3.7 mg/L, pH 6.20-7.32, nitrite 0.1-0.2 mg/L, and nitrate 2-3 mg/L.
