This study aims to identify the frequency of use of First Language (L1) and Second Language (L2) and the relationship between languages in the daily communication interactions of students of SDN 3 Ringin Kembar. The phenomenon of bilingualism in students creates complex communication dynamics between teachers and students. This study uses a qualitative approach to understand the use of L1 (Javanese) and L2 (Indonesian) and its implications for the development of students' language skills. The results of the study indicate that students use Javanese in informal contexts and Indonesian in formal contexts. The frequency of use of L1 and L2 is quite balanced, where L1 helps students understand concepts that are difficult to understand through L2. This study provides insight into the dynamics of bilingual communication in elementary schools and its implications for the development of more effective teaching methods in the context of bilingual education in Indonesia.
