Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the knowledge and skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh in writing observational reports through the use of the AI ​​Canva application within the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model. Initial challenges indicated that most students experienced difficulties developing text structure, using standard language, and presenting reports creatively. This research was conducted in two cycles with four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and assessment of student assignments. The results showed a significant increase in both student knowledge and skills after the implementation of AI Canva. The average student score increased from 63 in the pre-cycle to 76 in the first cycle, and again to 87 in the second cycle. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the AI ​​Canva application is effective in improving students' ability to write observational reports through the PJBL model.
