This study aims to analyze the existence and position of women in Dona Sang's novel Rubiah using Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminist perspective. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review method. The research data consists of quotations representing the experiences of female characters in facing patriarchal social structures. Data collection techniques were carried out through reading and note-taking, while data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the character Rubiah experiences existential dynamics that include her position as "the Other," the emergence of self-awareness, efforts to gain freedom, forms of resistance against patriarchal norms, and the process of becoming a free and independent subject. Her initial position as an object in the social structure develops into a subject capable of determining her own life choices. These findings emphasize that women's existence is not static, but rather formed through experience, awareness, and actions in facing social pressures. This study contributes to feminist literary studies by strengtheningĀ the understanding of women's existence in Indonesian literary works through an existentialist feminist perspective.
