MENGAJAR BERBICARA MENGGUNAKAN METODE WAWANCARA TIGA LANGKAH DI SEMESTER TIGA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INGGRIS

          Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode mengajar berbicara bahasa Inggris menggunakan metode wawancara tiga langkah di semester tiga Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris-Universitas PGRI Palembang. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Metode pembelajaran wawancara tiga langkah merupakan salah satu bentuk metode pembelajaran yang dirancang ntuk meningkatkan kreatifitas dan hasil belajar mahasiswa dalam berbicara. Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester ketiga kelas IIIb yang berjumlah 23 orang mahasiswa.  Simpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar yang diperoleh mahasiswa setelah diterapkan metode pembelajaran metode wawancara tiga langkah pada pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Inggris di semester ketiga program studi pendidikan bahasa Inggris –Universitas PGRI Palembang secara signifikan efektif. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil rata-rata prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada tes akhir (post-test) adalah 71.6 lebih tinggi daripada hasil rata-rata prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada tes awal (pretest) yaitu 61.4, dan berdasarkan hasil data analisis penelitian diperoleh nilai dari t-hitung (t-obtained) adalah 8.34 dimana nilai t-table adalah 1.7171 pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan df 22.

TEACHING SPEAKING BY USING THREE STEP INTERVIEW METHOD  AT THIRD SEMESTER OF ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM - PGRI UNIVERSITY PALEMBANG

 

Abstract

            The aims of this study to determine and describe the influence of three step interview method in teaching speaking at the third semester of English study program-PGRI University Palembang.  The method of this research used experiment method. The method three step interview which is a form of learning method designed as an alternative way to increase the creativity and students achievement in speaking skill in learning speaking.  The sample of this research was the students of third semester of IIIb class with the total of students was 23 students.  The conclusion from this research was teaching speaking by using three step interview at the third semester of English Education study program-University PGRI Palembang was effective.  This is evidenced by the result of the average score in the pre-test was 61.4 and the average score in the post-test was 71.6. with significance level 5% and degree of freedom (df) was 22.  The critical value of t-table was 1.7171 and the t-obtained was 8,34. It means that null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.
