Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya interaksi sosial siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan kepercayaan diri, (2) men-deskripsikan interaksi sosial siswa, (3) menguji kontribusi kepercayaan diri terhadap interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif jenis deskriptif korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas X, XI, dan XII SMA Negeri Sipis Pis yang berjumlah 424 siswa. Adapun sampel yang dipilih dengan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala model Likert. Hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen kepercayaan diri dan interaksi sosial siswa, menyatakan bahwa instrumen penelitian valid dan reliabel. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif Korelasional. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa: (1) secara rata-rata gambaran kepercayaan diriberada pada kategori tinggi, (2) interaksi sosial berada pada kategori tinggi, (3) terdapat kontribusi kepercayaan diri terhadap interaksi sosial sebesar 7.6% (R=0.275, signifikansi 0.000). Implikasi hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai analisis kebutuhan siswa untuk pembuatan program pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling di SMA Negeri 1 Sipis Pis.

THE CONTRIBUTION OF SELF CONFIDENCE TOWARD

STUDENTS’ SOCIAL INTERACTION

Abstract

This research is done due to the fact that students’ social interaction was still low. This research aimed to: (1) describe self confidence, (2), describe students’ social interaction, (3) test the contribution of self confidence toward students’ social interaction. The design of the  research was quantitative by using the descriptive correlational method. The population of this research was all the students SMAN 1Sipis Pis with totally 424 students, the samples were 206 students, that were chosen by the using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instrument of the research was the Likert Model scale. The result of validity and reliability of self confidence and students social interaction instrument showed that they were valid and reliable. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and Correlation. The finding of this research are: (1)  on general self confidence are in high category, (2) students social interaction at the high category, (3) there are significance contribution of  self confidence toward students interpersonal communication7.6% (R= 0.275, significant 0.000),. The implication of this research can be used to analyzed the need assessment in the program of guidance dan counseling service which is related to self confidence and students’  social interaction.
