Post-Publication Discussion

1. Purpose and Scope

Environmental Science Journal (ESJO) encourages constructive scholarly discussion of articles published in the journal. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, and other members of the scientific community to raise questions, offer alternative interpretations, and provide evidence-based feedback on published research. This process aims to support scientific progress, improve understanding of published findings, and safeguard the integrity of the scholarly record.

2. Submission of Comments and Feedback

Readers and researchers may submit comments, questions, or concerns regarding articles published in ESJO through the journal's official editorial contact channels. Submissions should clearly identify the article concerned and provide a concise explanation of the issue being raised. Where applicable, comments should be supported by relevant data, references, or other appropriate evidence.

All submissions must be scientifically relevant, respectful, and consistent with the principles of academic integrity. Personal attacks, discriminatory language, defamatory statements, and unsupported allegations will not be accepted.

3. Editorial Assessment

The editorial team will assess submitted comments to determine their relevance, scientific merit, clarity, and compliance with publication ethics. The journal may request clarification or additional supporting information before proceeding.

Where appropriate, the authors of the article concerned may be invited to respond. The editorial team will evaluate comments and responses impartially and may consult independent experts when necessary. Acceptance for publication will depend on the scientific value of the submission, its relevance to the published article, and compliance with the journal's editorial and ethical standards.

Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication.

4. Corrections and Retractions

If a post-publication comment or other credible information raises concerns about the accuracy, reliability, or ethical integrity of a published article, the editorial team will assess the matter in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

Depending on the nature and severity of the concern, and following an appropriate assessment, possible actions may include publishing a correction, an Expression of Concern, or a retraction. Any action will be taken in accordance with the journal's Correction and Retraction Policy and applicable publication ethics guidelines.

5. Fairness, Confidentiality, and Ethical Conduct

ESJO is committed to handling post-publication concerns fairly, objectively, and confidentially where appropriate. All parties involved are expected to communicate professionally and provide accurate information. The journal will seek to avoid conflicts of interest in the assessment process and will take reasonable steps to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Concerns will be assessed on the basis of the information and evidence available, without prejudging the authors or other parties involved.

6. Contact
