Abstract

  The palm oil industry is one of the sectors that contributes greatly to the Indonesian economy. However, this industry also produces hazardous and toxic waste (B3) which requires special management so as not to cause negative impacts on the environment and public health. This internship aims to analyze the management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3) in the palm oil industry, which is a crucial aspect that must comply with environmental regulations in order to prevent negative impacts on the ecosystem and human health. Related to regulations governing B3 waste management and evaluating the implementation carried out by third parties at PT X. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation. The results show that B3 waste management at PT X has referred to applicable regulations, such as in Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. However, in its implementation there are still several obstacles such as limited infrastructure. This study recommends optimizing B3 waste processing facilities.
