Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The genres of articles are accepted and acknowledgment from the authors that their articles have not been publishing elsewhere. The manuscript should be typed in Microsoft Office Word format (the author must save a copy of the document in docs and RTF file), using 11 font size, Tahoma font face, 1.5 lines spacing, choose A4 (210 x 297 mm) as paper size, 10-15 pages in page number in document.

Brief Communications are subject to the same word restrictions, with the additional requirement that the abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, references, and figure legends cannot exceed 5000 words.

The manuscript will be reviewed by reviewers, and the editors will edit the manuscript for format consistency without altering the substance. The manuscript must be written in English. Submitting an incomplete manuscript or a manuscript that does not adhere to the word limits will cause a delay in review.

 

ORGANIZATION OF THE MANUSCRIPT

ESTEEM JOURNAL OF ENGLISH STUDY PROGRAMME

The manuscript must include the following sections in the listed:

  1. Title Page
  2. Abstract
  3. Introduction
  4. Materials & Methods
  5. Result
  6. Discussion
  7. References
  8. Legends
  9. Illustrations and Tables
 
1.Title

The first page of the manuscript should be a title page with the following:

  • Title (50 words maximum)
  • Title provides two languages (Bahasa Indonesia and English)
  • Abbreviated title (50 character maximum)
  • Author names and affiliation, including postal codes
  • Corresponding author with complete address, including an email address and postal code

 

2.Abstract

Purpose of the study: In simple words tell to readers about the aim of this study. No discussion, no story only aim of this study [50-60 words] Methodology: Give name, brand, type of tools, methods, software, review, and survey that has been used to do this study. No discussion or explanation. [50-60 words] Main Findings: Write only main results in few words. No discussion or explanation. [50-60 words] Applications of this study: where this study can be useful, give name of area, disciplines etc [50-60 words] Novelty/Originality of this study: what is new in this study that may benefit readers and how it is advancing the existing knowledge or creating new knowledge in this subject. [50-60 words]

Keywords: 5 to 6 keywords. Take 2 or 3 from title. Keywords should be commonly Google searchable termsI

3.Introduction

Provide background of the study in easy words. In this section author should discuss the research problem in very clear words. Also discuss the motivation of the study. Provide intext references in APA style for all the facts that are presented here. (Estache,2001:23) <This is an example of how to place a bodynote>:

 

4.Literature Review
Related work of previous researchers should be presented. Minimum 10-15 good and recent works should be presented. This section can be merged with introduction section as well. Here author can discuss the research gap that this study is going or willing to cover. Provide intext citation in APA style. (Harris, 2019)

5.Methods
Present the materials, methods, survey, questionnaire etc used for the study. Author should explain whether this study is experimental, or review study, or simulation based or survey based. Discuss software, hardwares used during study with their brand names. Mention all research conditions, assumptions, theories followed. This section should be easy enough for any reader to repeat the study under similar conditions.

6.Results and Discussion
Provide logical and scientific findings of the study. Present evidences to support your analysis by citing work of earlier researchers or existing theories.

7.Conclusion
Conclusion should be written in very clear words. It should explain how the objectives of the study are accomplished.

8.Acknowledgement
Author should present list of acknowledgement at the end. Any financial or nonfinancial support for the study should be acknowledged.

9.References
REFERENCES (all references should be in APA style and present inside the main body of article. Dont put extra references. You are free to add a list of further readings and put add extra references, websites, ebooks etc in that section)
All end references should be mentioned inside the article in the form of Intext reference.
Reference list entries should be alphabetized by the last names of the first author of each work.
