This study aimed to examine the effect of Kahoot-based learning and students’ motivation on the reading comprehension of tenth grade students at Madyatama Vocational High School Palembang. An experimental research method with a 2 x 2 factorial design was employed in this study. The data wereobtained through a reading comprehension test and motivation questionnaire, then analyzed using independent samples t-test and Two-Way ANOVA. The findings indicated that students who learned through Kahoot-based learning achieved better reading comprehension scores than those who were taught using the conventional method, regardless of their motivation levels. Moreover, students with high motivation consistently demonstrated higher achievement than students with low motivation in both the Kahoot-based learning group and conventional learning group. The analysis also revealed a significant interaction between Kahoot-based learning and students’ motivation in affecting students’ reading comprehension. In conclusion, Kahoot-based learning positively influenced students’ reading comprehension achievement, and its effectiveness was closely related to students’ motivation levels.
