Correction and Retraction
Jurnal Ilmu-ilmu Perikanan dan Budidaya Perairan, published by Universitas PGRI Palembang, is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections and retractions are handled in accordance with the nature and seriousness of the issues identified in published articles.
1. Correction Procedures
If an error is identified in a published article, the author should promptly notify the editor and provide a clear explanation of the error and the proposed correction. Readers may also report suspected errors to the editorial team.
The editor will evaluate the information provided and determine whether a correction is necessary. If approved, a correction notice will be published and linked to the original article to ensure transparency and maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record.
2. Retraction Procedures
A retraction may be considered when a published article contains serious errors that invalidate its findings or conclusions, evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, or other substantial violations of publication ethics.
The editorial team will examine the available evidence and, where appropriate, request explanations from the authors before making a decision. The decision to retract an article will be based on the findings of the evaluation and the seriousness of the issue.
If retraction is approved, a retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction will be published and linked to the original article. The original article will remain accessible where appropriate, clearly marked as retracted, to preserve the transparency of the scholarly record.
3. Communication and Transparency
Authors, readers, and other relevant parties may report suspected errors or ethical concerns to the editorial team through the journal's official communication channels. All reports will be assessed fairly and handled confidentially as appropriate.
The journal aims to ensure that all correction and retraction decisions are transparent, properly documented, and consistent with publication ethics principles.
