Types of Manuscript

ELTE Journal (English Language Teaching and Education) accepts original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the development of English language teaching, language education, applied linguistics, and related fields. The journal welcomes theoretical, empirical, and practice-oriented studies that offer meaningful contributions to research and educational practice. All manuscripts must be written in English and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles report the findings of empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches. These manuscripts should present a clear research problem, relevant theoretical framework, appropriate methodology, systematic analysis of findings, and a discussion of their implications for language education or applied linguistics.

Topics may include English language teaching and learning, second language acquisition, classroom interaction, language assessment, digital learning, teaching strategies, curriculum development, and educational innovation.

2. Review Articles

Review Articles provide critical and systematic examinations of existing literature on topics relevant to English language teaching, education, and applied linguistics. These manuscripts should synthesize relevant scholarly findings, identify research gaps, evaluate theoretical or methodological developments, and propose directions for future research. Systematic literature reviews and other rigorous forms of scholarly review are welcome.

3. Short Communications

Short Communications present concise but significant research findings, preliminary evidence, innovative teaching practices, methodological insights, or emerging developments in language education. These manuscripts should offer clear academic value and contribute meaningfully to ongoing scholarly discussions. Despite their shorter format, they must demonstrate sound reasoning, appropriate use of evidence, and relevance to the journal's scope.
