Authorship Criteria
1. Authorship Eligibility
All authors listed in a manuscript submitted to Jurnal Redoks must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and the preparation of the manuscript. Authorship is based on the following criteria:
- Substantial Contribution: Authors must have made significant contributions to the conception or design of the research, data acquisition, data analysis, data interpretation, or other essential aspects of the study.
- Manuscript Preparation: Authors must participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
- Final Approval: All authors must read and approve the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication.
- Accountability: All authors must agree to be accountable for their contributions and help ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All four criteria must be met for an individual to qualify as an author. Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately in the Acknowledgments section, with their permission.
2. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office throughout the submission, review, revision, and publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that:
- All eligible contributors are included as authors.
- All listed authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission.
- The order of authors has been agreed upon by all authors before submission.
- All authorship information is accurate and complete.
- Any potential conflicts of interest and relevant funding sources are disclosed.
3. Authorship Changes
Any changes to authorship after manuscript submission, including the addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors, must be accompanied by a written explanation and the consent of all affected authors. The corresponding author must submit the request to the editorial office for consideration and approval by the editor.
The journal reserves the right to suspend the editorial process while an authorship dispute or change request is being investigated. Where necessary, the journal may refer unresolved authorship disputes to the relevant authors' institutions.
4. Prohibited Authorship Practices
The journal does not permit unethical authorship practices, including:
- Gift Authorship: Listing an individual as an author despite their not meeting the authorship criteria.
- Guest Authorship: Including an individual as an author primarily to increase the perceived credibility or prestige of the manuscript without sufficient contribution.
- Ghost Authorship: Omitting an individual who has made substantial contributions to the research or manuscript.
All authorship decisions must be based on actual contributions, transparency, and publication ethics.
5. Acknowledgment of Non-Author Contributions
Individuals who provide technical assistance, language editing, administrative support, funding assistance, or other contributions that do not meet all authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section.
The corresponding author must obtain permission from individuals before including their names in the Acknowledgments section. Acknowledgment must not be used as a substitute for appropriate authorship.
6. Authorship Disputes and Ethical Concerns
Any concerns regarding authorship, including disputes over author inclusion, exclusion, or author order, should be reported to the editor-in-chief or editorial office.
The journal will assess reported concerns fairly and confidentially, request relevant explanations or documentation from the parties involved, and follow appropriate publication ethics guidance. If the dispute cannot be resolved by the journal, the matter may be referred to the relevant institution for investigation.
Where evidence of unethical authorship practices is established, the journal may take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics and editorial policies.
7. Compliance with Publication Ethics
All authors must comply with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable standards of responsible research and publication. The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adopts the four authorship criteria recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) as a reference for determining authorship eligibility.
All authorship information must be transparent, accurate, and consistent with the actual contributions made to the research and manuscript.
