Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Jurnal Ampere recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI), including generative AI tools, may be used as an auxiliary tool in the preparation and publication of scientific work. The use of AI is permitted when it supports, and does not replace, the intellectual contribution, scientific judgment, and responsibility of authors, reviewers, and editors.

1. Authors

Authors may use AI tools for appropriate purposes, including:

  • improving grammar, spelling, language, and writing style;
  • translation and language assistance;
  • organizing ideas or manuscript structure;
  • summarizing or simplifying text;
  • assisting with programming, data processing, visualization, or statistical analysis, provided that the results are independently verified.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scientific validity of their manuscripts.

Authors must not use AI to fabricate or falsify research data, generate fictitious references or citations, produce misleading scientific claims or conclusions, or otherwise violate publication ethics.

Authors must not list AI tools as authors or co-authors.

When AI has been used substantially in preparing the manuscript or conducting the research, authors should disclose its use in an appropriate section of the manuscript, such as the Acknowledgements, Author Note, or Methods section, depending on the nature of the use.

2. Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and all information obtained during peer review.

Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, unpublished data, figures, tables, or other confidential materials to AI platforms.

AI tools should not be used to independently evaluate manuscripts or generate peer-review reports. Reviewers remain fully responsible for their evaluations, comments, and recommendations.

3. Editors

Editors may use AI tools for limited administrative or language-support purposes when appropriate. However, AI must not replace editorial judgment or independently determine editorial decisions.

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, reviewer identities, author information, and other confidential materials.

All editorial and publication decisions remain the responsibility of the journal's editors.

4. Responsibility and Integrity

The use of AI does not transfer responsibility for a scientific work to the AI system. Authors, reviewers, and editors remain responsible for the content, accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct of their respective activities.

AI systems cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the originality, integrity, or accountability of scientific work.

Jurnal Ampere supports the responsible and transparent use of AI while maintaining the principles of academic integrity, confidentiality, and human responsibility.
