A generator is an electric machine to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy by electromagnetic induction. The generator is used as the generation of electrical energy used to fill electricity. In today's modern era, Electricity Energy is needed, energy needs will increase every year, increasing demand for servants of energy needed to support the provision of everyday life, industrial and commercial needs. The emergence of various industries with various scales is an important factor that requires increased electricity. To meet all these needs, it is designed and made to produce electricity. The several types of power plants that are used at present, generators produce a type of generator that is developed as a generator, based on still in a limited capacity. the voltage generation process in this generator is somewhat different from a synchronous generator or direct current generator, because it uses electronic components to be capacitors as generator excitation. Thus the capacitor in the generator has a very important role
Abstrak-- Generator merupakan mesin listrik untuk mengubah energi mekanik menjadi energi listrik dengan cara induksi elektromagnet. Generator digunakan sebagai pembangkitan energi listrik yang melayani suatu beban listrik. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Pada zaman modern sekarang ini Energi Listrik sangat dibutuhkan, kebutuhan akan energi listrik cenderung meningkat setiap tahun karena semakin banyaknya kebutuhan pelayan beban yang memerlukan energi listrik untuk menunjang aktifitas hidup masyarakat sehari-hari, kebutuhan industri dan komersial. Munculnya berbagai industri dengan berbagai skalanya merupakan faktor penting yang menjadikan kebutuhan energi listrik semakin melonjak. Untuk memenuhi semua kebutuhan tersebut maka dirancang dan dibuatlah pembangkit guna menghasilkan energi listrik tersebut. Dari beberapa jenis pembangkit listrik yang digunakan pada saat sekarang ini, generator induksi merupakan jenis pembangkit yang baru dikembangkan sebagai generator pembangkit, walaupun masih dalam kapasitas yang terbatas. Proses pembangkitan tegangan pada generator induksi ini agak berbeda dengan generator sinkron maupun generator arus searah, karena menggunakan komponen elektronik berupa kapasitor sebagai eksitasi generator. Dengan demikian kapasitor dalam generator induksi memiliki peranan yang sangat penting.
